  • When is the best time to come in for 3D/4D/HD?
If you plan on having only ONE 3D/4D/HD ultrasound, the ideal time to schedule your appointment is between 28-32 weeks of pregnancy. However, excellent images of your baby can be obtained at any time and up until your baby’s birth; it just depends on how cooperative the baby is, as well as how much water you drink in the days leading up to your 3D ultrasound! Many mothers choose to have more than one 3D/4D ultrasound and have images to enjoy from their first, second and third trimesters. ** Don’t forget, Rising Arrows offers a “returning customer loyalty discount” ($10 off) on all consecutive ultrasounds!
  • Is the ultrasound safe for the baby and me?
Disclosures: According to the US Food and Drug Administration, “Ultrasound examinations provide parents with a valuable opportunity to view and hear the heartbeat of the fetus, bond with the unborn baby, and capture images to share with family and friends. Ultrasound imaging began in 1956 and has an excellent safety record. While ultrasound is generally considered to be safe with very low risks, the risks may increase with unnecessary prolonged exposure to ultrasound energy or when untrained users operate the device." *Rising Arrows ensures that all elective ultrasound scan time frames performed are less than 30 minutes per session while utilizing safe frequency and index settings. *Our Sonographer is a Nationally Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with 20+ years of obstetrical ultrasound experience.
  • What is the difference between an ultrasound and a sonogram?
    None!
  • How was “Rising Arrows” chosen for the company name?
It is derived from scripture. "Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior, so are the children born of one’s youth." Psalms 127:3-4 (Children are referred to as “arrows” in the bible). The meaning of a ”rising star” is a person that is growing quickly in popularity or importance. Much like the growing fetus, growing quickly in both popularity and importance! (Rising = Growing; Arrows = Children) Hope you love it as much as I do!
  • Do you offer Gift Certificates?
Yes! Please contact Rising Arrows for more information. Gift Certificates expire in 1 year. An AWESOME gift for the Mother-To-Be!
  • What is an ultrasound?
An ultrasound or sonogram obtains images from inside the human body through the use of high frequency sound waves. The reflected sound wave echoes are picked up and converted by a computer into an image that is displayed on a computer screen. An ultrasound test is painless, does not emit ionizing radiation and is one the safest diagnostic medical examinations available today.
  • What is an ELECTIVE ultrasound?
Not a medically necessary ultrasound. An elective prenatal ultrasound provides a bonding experience for the mother, father, and loved ones of the unborn baby. An elective ultrasound DOES NOT replace the diagnostic ultrasound ordered by your obstetrical provider! Care must be established prior to scheduling an elective ultrasound.
  • What is a NON-DIAGNOSTIC ultrasound?
In essence, NO DIAGNOSIS will be made during the elective ultrasound session. Fetal growth measurements or anatomical surveys will NOT be performed or documented. The ultrasound will NOT screen for any present or potential obstetrical conditions, fetal defects, abnormalities and/or anomalies. The Sonographer will NOT interpret, diagnose, or consult on any medical condition or problems relating to the health and well-being of the fetus(s) or the overall pregnancy.
  • What is the difference between 2D, 3D, 4D, HD/5D & ULTRAK (8K/10K)?
2D is the basic yet sharp black and white 2-dimensional image 3D is a still 3-dimensional image. 4D is “live” 3D image scanning (the 4th dimension is time/motion). HD (also known as 5D or RealisticVue) displays high-resolution 3D anatomy with exceptional detail and realistic depth perception, giving the appearance of a “real view.” ULTRAK, also known as an 8K and 10K, is a computerized “Photoshop” enhancement, much like an airbrushed effect to the actual 4D/5D image. (Refer to image gallery). The ULTRAK image process usually takes five business days (includes a video with image).

  • Will I always get beautiful images?
Due to the nature of the service, there is no guarantee of obtaining Optimal views due to uncontrollable situations. **Please be mindful of ultrasound limitations** The quality of the images is dependent on multiple factors, subject to, but not limited to the following: • Increased BMI/Maternal Body Habitus • Baby's Position (i.e., facing down towards mother's back, facing towards the placenta) Gestational Age/Stage of Development (i.e., "crowding" in late gestational age, "skinny" in early gestational age) • Low Amniotic Fluid Levels • Gender limitations (maternal body habitus, too early gestational age, legs crossed position, breech fetal position) ** If no acceptable views (determined by the sonographer) are obtained on the first visit, the customer will receive ONE follow-up session (15 minutes) without additional fees. **The same applies if we are unable to determine the gender. Due to the nature of the service, no refunds will be issued.
  • Are there any tips to achieve great images of the baby?
    • For OPTIMAL images, drink ample water the day of the scan along with the days prior! This is the #1 MOST important factor in achieving the highest quality of images! We can’t stress enough, water, water, water! Start hydrating one week before your appointment and the day of! Encourage 1 gallon of water and/or hydration drinks per day! *Hydration drinks include Gatorade, Powerade, Propel, Prime Hydration, Liquid IV, etc.* • A snack or meal 10-15 minutes before the ultrasound seems to “energize” the fetal baby movements. • Drink an Ice-Cold beverage of your choice on the way to your appointment. • Schedule your appointment when your baby is most active. • Say a prayer! It’s worth a try!
  • How are images sent?
Digital Images and videos will be sent via text to the recipient’s provided phone number(s) and/or email through an application known as MOMentum. You can therefore save, text, email, forward and/or print the images at your discretion. If you prefer a higher quality of jpeg images and AVI files, an add on option is available which includes a flash drive of the entire study (images and videos) for an additional charge. See Packages and Prices.
  • Do you provide a DVD for the entire session?
Rising Arrows provides you with digital files that will last a lifetime! DVDs are becoming more and more obsolete in the technology world we live in. Many of the DVDs are not compatible with certain blu-ray DVD players, MAC computers, etc. Thermal prints are an outdated technology. Although it works great for instant pictures (which we still provide a few prints), we limit the prints due to image darkening with time and heat over time. For this reason, high quality digital file images will be delivered directly to your phone or email. If you are interested in live videos, there is an additional $20 fee, which includes a flash drive of all the videos as well as, all the digital images captured during your session. *The jpeg images and AVI volume file video clips stored on the flash drive can be viewed on smart TVs, computers/laptops, Xbox, etc. for sharing and viewing. An unlimited amount of thermal prints can also be purchased for an additional fee per print. Ultimately, our goal is to deliver products that don’t lose their quality over time.
  • What if I lose the images or lost my phone?
Contact Rising Arrows soon thereafter, the images are saved for 1 year. A $20 image retrieval fee (flash drive included) will be charged.
